Benefiting Others in the Book of Mormon

This work is done with the intent to benefit others When people know they are not cast off from Christ forever This book tells us how to gain peace NOW and  forever Saved by coming to Christ and obeying the laws and ordinances of His gospel Get nearer to God by abiding by this book's precepts than by any other book People need help making the important connections. They are of great benefit! 1 Nephi Being a good parent benefits the children Prophesying unto people to repent for their sakes Testified of the Messiah and the redemption of the world Gave clear explanation for why there were there doing what they were (specifically to get the plates from Laban) The Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes It is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle in unbelief The plates should go forth unto all nations, kindred, tongue, and people Preserve the commandments of the Lord Write things that are pleasing unto God Frankly...

Work in the Book of Mormon

Documenting everything is very important Mormon was a historian who abridged the records Christ personally  came to minister to the people Even as the supreme leader and creator of all things of this earth, His personal involvement was paramount to the success of mankind. Any leader of a group must become intimately acquainted with the work they have created for others. Delegation is an important part of being able to accomplish any of this at the scale needed, but the heart of everything needs to be mastered by the leader, as Christ demonstrated. His ministry was to show us an example of what we ought to become by our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Doing this one by one allows concepts to take root deep within a person. Someone must publish the records Translation can be done by the gift and power of God Satan's job is to tempt One of our jobs is to fortify ourselves in order to resist that temptation. Spiritual things are not there to make one rich It would be ...

Knowledge in the Book of Mormon

Things of value must be translated and/or made simpler for the understanding of man, regardless of one's origins Multiple sources are important to validate the truth of anything, God and the Holy Ghost being the most important sources Literacy and diligence in correct record-keeping God speaks through prophetic writings Clear and distinct Repetition when listening; recitation to others to solidify remembrance Spiritual matters should first be understood/sought out before secular history. All solid foundations are first spiritual We can also teach by pictures and illustrations 1 Nephi Parents teachings are the child's first exposure to language More knowledge is not always comforting The Spirit increases our ability to see and learn Visions and dreams can teach Search the scriptures There are unimportant things to write about (so do not do it) Learning by topic -- differentiating between secular and spiritual Teaching in symbols for enhanced memory and unde...

My intentions for this blog

This blog is for my own personal studies. If anyone wants to benefit or learn from it, I hope you find new truths, but please take into account that the things I write may not all be perfectly doctrinal. Some may be thoughts that I have had during the study, sometimes speculation. I have questions that I am trying to study out, and my hope is that writing them out like this will help increase my own understanding. If it bothers you that I do not always put references to things I'm writing (which I almost never do), I apologize, but I'm not losing sleep over it. Initially I didn't even have everything sorted into the books, so you can be happy about that. I have my own highlighted book and can find the references quite quickly if I want to, so if you have questions as to where I get some of these ideas from, feel free to comment and ask about it! I LOVE reading the Book of Mormon, and so if anyone else wants to learn from this way of studying, then please try it out! I...
